Glasgow Prestwick Airport Taxi Guide
Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) taxi pick-up, drop-off zones and fixed transfer fares.
Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) is a compact single-terminal airport on the Ayrshire coast, dominated by Ryanair short-haul routes. Because the terminal is small, pick-up and drop-off are straightforward — the taxi rank is directly outside arrivals and forecourt drop-off is £4.50 for up to 10 minutes.
This guide covers where your pre-booked driver will meet you, the current forecourt drop-off charge, and typical fixed fares between PIK and the west of Scotland.
Pick-up & drop-off zones
Terminals: single main terminal.
Pre-booked private hire pick-up
Pre-booked drivers wait in the short-stay car park immediately opposite the terminal, a 60-second step-free walk from arrivals. Your driver texts the bay number once your flight lands.
Taxi rank (black cabs)
Metered taxis wait on the rank directly outside the terminal doors, best for short local runs into Ayr, Prestwick town or Troon.
Forecourt drop-off (£4.50 / 10 min)
Prestwick charges £4.50 for up to 10 minutes on the forecourt drop-off — still one of the cheapest of any UK airport. Payment is by card or contactless at the exit ANPR barrier and longer stays are charged again at the same rate.
Meeting your driver (arrivals)
- Clear immigration and collect luggage in the compact single baggage hall.
- Exit arrivals through the sliding doors and cross the pedestrian access lane to the short-stay car park.
- Your pre-booked driver will be waiting in a numbered bay — they text you the bay reference before you land.
- Meet-and-greet (+£25) is available if you would like the driver to meet you inside arrivals with a name board.
Being dropped off
- Head to the forecourt drop-off directly outside the terminal — £4.50 buys 10 minutes, more than enough for luggage and farewells.
- If you overrun, the exit ANPR barrier reads your plate and charges by card / contactless at the standard tariff.
- The long-stay car park is a 3-minute walk with free shuttle bus, ideal for extended goodbyes.
